A new season has started, so it’s time for a new favourites! I can’t believe it’s almost a year ago I started my first ‘favourites’ post. I still enjoy writing these posts and I love reading ‘favourites’ articles from other bloggers, because I find it very inspiring. This time, I’ll talk about a new favourite store, a hot beverage and many more!
Favourite store: Noor Amsterdam
This is one of the smallest, but therefore, also one of the cutest stores in Amsterdam. I discovered it when I went to the Albert Cuyp market to do some groceries. It’s a little hidden through the market stands, but you can find the store on the corner of the Albert Cuypstraat and the 1e van der Helststraat. When you enter it, it looks like a second hand store, but nothing could be further from the truth: Noor sells a lot of (new) great fashion brands you won’t find on every corner of the street. It’s trendy and sophisticated, and I believe there’s something for everyone.

Favourite food: falafel wrap
During the end of the summer, it was so warm outside, I didn’t really feel like cooking when I came home from work. That’s why I ‘invented’ my own falafel wrap combination. It’s healthier than a take-away version and it’s possible to vary with ingredients. The only thing you need is a pan to bake the falafel for 5 minutes. My favourite one:
- Whole weat wraps
- Sliced cucumber
- Lamb’s lettuce or spinach
- Sauce: quark mixed with garlic and shredded cucumber
Favourite drink: Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte
This is not a new favourite, but it still belongs to my fall favourites. And because I haven’t mentioned my PSL cravings before, I figured this would be the right time. Fall is not specifically my favourite season of the year, but I’m always waiting on the moment that this hot beverage is available at Starbucks again. It’s a calorie bomb and extremely sweet, but to me, it’s a perfect way to get through these cold days.
Favourite next destination: Stockholm!
This is an easy favourite, because it’s still my only next destination, as I haven’t planned my other holidays yet. I’m going to Stockholm in 2 weeks for a long weekend and I’m quite excited, because I haven’t been to any Scandinavian country before. I’m already searching for the best spots to eat, drink and shop, and there are so many of them! I’m always curious to explore a new city, so I think I will definitely enjoy my time there.
Favourite new hotspot: Walter’s – The Walter Woodbury Bar
What’s a favourites blogpost without a new hotspot? When I came to this bar/restaurant in Amsterdam East for the first time, I hadn’t heard from it yet. My roommate celebrated her birthday bash here and I enjoyed it very much! The interior is full of plants and birds on the walls, which makes you feel like you’re not really sitting inside. They have a special Gin & tonic menu and even if you normally don’t like it (like me), you can choose one that you’ll definitely enjoy. The food on the menu is various: there’s a dish for everyone. If you like meat, take the burger or the lamb. A vegetarian? I took the beet and feta burger with fries and it was delicious! But, as you can see on the picture, the dessert menu is also quite impressive.
