I’m always seeking for new stores, restaurants, cafés and everything in between. Last week there was a day that I came across two new Dutch hotspots that have opened yesterday that I have to share with you.
Bag & Buy
This store is already a great success and it’s not a surprise if you ask me, because it has an original solution for the environment problem that people are very aware of nowadays. Being and living ‘green’ is a trend and the founder of this concept found a perfect way to create something that provides this need.
Have you ever bought something , but didn’t know if you would really need the whole package? I usually experience this with herbs I need for just one recipe. In the first pacakage free store of Holland you can choose how much you’d like to buy by ‘tapping’ your own groceries from dispensers. Plus, you need to bring your own bags or jars, because recycling is the key of this food store. Choose from different kinds of nuts, dried fruits, seeds, beans and herbs, but also rice and pasta.
Address: Twijnstraat 38, Utrecht
Opening hours: 09.00 – 18.30
De Ruijter temporary bread restaurant
Do you like to combine different spreads on your bread? Then you should go to the first bread restaurant of De Ruijter. Known of many different sprinkles, the brand opened a temporary store in Restaurant ‘De Struisvogel’ in the 9 streets in Amsterdam. It’s all about decorating your bread to make the most outstanding combinations. Best thing is: if you share your combination on social media, you get to eat your slice of bread for free! Do you prefer peanutbutter with jelly? Or are you a chocolate sprinkles with banana kind of person? Be quick, because the store will only be open for one week!
Address: Keizersgracht 312, Amsterdam
