Is it just me or is everybody a little fed up with the winter season? I refuse to put on my gloves, prefer blouses and T-shirts over warm knits and I can’t wait to go outside with a jacket instead of a wintercoat. My oppose against the cold days does not only have to do with fashion and clothing, but also with interior. Once the first day of spring has passed, I can’t wait to clean up my closets and add some more colour to my home. In this post you’ll find 3 ways to change your interior to a brighter place (without having to paint the walls or to buy new furniture).
The power of flowers
The easiest way to spice up your interior is to buy some fresh flowers. It gives a room a lot more colour and it brings the smell of nature into a place. The fun thing of it all is that you can decorate with flowers in many different ways. Are you creative? Customize your own little vase(s) in multiple colours to show a bunch of flowers. Or: make a flower letter of your initial. If you’re not a fan of bright colours, just buy some succulents or other plants and green up your home!
Say it with cushions
If you have some cushions in standard sizes, try to buy some new cushion covers every once in a while to make some small adjustments in your home. Same thing is for bedding. When it’s springtime, I love pastels combined with lots of white, but bright colours also have their charm. And the best thing of it all: you can change the covers every time you get fed up with the colours or prints.
Besides cushions and bedding, there are many other home decorations that can influence a room quickly. Think of photo frames, candles, vases, rugs, and many more. You could also play with prints of palmtrees and flowers in more basic colours. Or create your own decoration by framing some green leafs. If you think of throwing away old home accessories, think of ways to bring new life to it, for example by painting it into your favourite spring colours.
